The record
An official file preserves that a report was made and examined. It does not, by itself, establish what was seen.
- Ministerio da Aeronautica (routing); Ministerio da Marinha positions quoted; Presidency Liberacao de relatorio sobre objetos voadores nao identificados (OVNI) (opens in a new tab)
The document is attached to this entry.
What is not settled
Administrative correspondence, not the 1958 investigation. The photographer took the negatives home unsupervised; marks were recorded on only three plates; Blue Book judged the photos fabricated, and a detailed Brazilian hoax reconstruction exists. Officially unresolved but evidentially very weak.
