What is not settled
Authentic as a US intelligence product; the primary Academy laboratory reports have never been published, so the chemistry rests on newspaper paraphrase. A Tomsk physicist in the same document argued for a natural plasmoid, and the document misdates the event. The material is consistent with industrial slag from a lead-and-boron mining district.
