The record
An official file preserves that a report was made and examined. It does not, by itself, establish what was seen.
- Ministerio da Aeronautica - Comando de Defesa Aeroespacial (COMDA) Relatorio de Ocorrencia (19/20 May 1986) (opens in a new tab)
The document is attached to this entry.
What is not settled
Radar-only and light-only; no shape, no imagery, no landing. Anomalous propagation, balloons and mass-alert confusion across several radar sites are live alternatives, and the report stops short of saying the objects were piloted craft.
