The record

An official file preserves that a report was made and examined. It does not, by itself, establish what was seen.

The document is attached to this entry.

What is not settled

Blue Book's stated conclusion is in the file: probably ball lightning, with St Elmo's fire invoked and the stalling attributed to moisture on distributor parts. The file also shows the on-site investigation lasted about seven hours by one investigator. A separate 7 Nov 1957 Levelland file exists (frame 6781581, Insufficient Data) - do not confuse them.
