What is not settled

A hazard filing, not an investigation; the Army never adjudicated a cause. The 1973 Orionid shower peaked that week and a bright fireball explanation has been argued. The altitude gain depends on a pressure altimeter reading. Blue Book had been closed nearly four years, so no federal analysis followed.
